Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on March 26th on the 26th of March, 1991. She is an American musician and singer. She was the first artist signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. The first album she released with the label on October 21 2016 with the title Pho. It was then that she gained recognition. Shea Butter Baby her debut album was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox first uploaded songs online in the year 2012. Her debut album Ariography and her mixtape debut in 2013, five Finger Discount. In 2014, Ari Lennox continued uploading her music online as well as her own single Bound. The song was included in Omen's Elephant Eyes as well as in Sweat It Out on July 21 in 2015. J. Cole was interested in her talent and wanted to collaborate in conjunction with Rihanna. On the 8th of December, it was announced that she was signed to Dreamville Records. Backseat was a track she performed alongside Cozz on The Revenge of the Dreamers II collaboration album. On October 21, 2016 the debut EP of Ari Lennox was released, titled Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening act on behalf of J. Cole on his single Change in 2017. She also was a part of the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. She also appeared in two tracks, including the EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song as well as Bas's Icarus. Ari Lennox dropped her first song Whipped Cream off of Shea Butter Baby on July 16th. The music video was released, followed by a music video September. Then on November 9, she released two additional singles: forty Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. She then released on November 13 two new singles, titled No One and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby is a track that she recorded together with Cole on Creed II's soundtrack on 16 November. The track was released as a stand-alone single in February 2019 to coincide with her debut album. The 20th of February, 2019, a music clip was released for the song. The track has received over three million views on YouTube within the initial week. She supported 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour back in December of 2018.
